The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Go for DOMS!

    Read that.

    http://www.zeitschrift-sportmedizin....0/int_0200.pdf

For all who do not speak german:

This article is about the aftereffects of sore muscles. Dr. Böning mentions that musclesoreness leads to hypertrophie- it is the decisive stimulus!

I have found a good way to train really hard. Believe me: this will make your muscles sore. And it won't take too long.

    Step 1
Choose a weight you can lift for 6-8 times. When you can't move the DB or BB any more try to keep the tension for 10-15 seconds more. Try to lift it!

    Step 2
Then rest for 10-20 seconds. Remove 2,5kg from your DB/BB and repeat step 1.

Try to do 20 reps. That's it. Your muscles will be sore as hell the next day!

If you are looking for opinions on this, do a search, there was a HUGE debate on it not long ago.

DOMS and hypertrophy are not necessarily related at all.

If Dr Boning says DOMS is the decisive stimulus, the good doctor is quite wrong.
    Squats work better than supplements.
"You know, if I thought like that, I'd never put more than one plate on the bar for anything, I'd never use bands or chains, I'd never squat to parallel or below, and I'd never let out the slightest grunt when I lift. At some point in your lifting career (assuming you're planning on getting reasonably strong and big), you're going to have to accept that most people think you are some kind of freak." -Sensei

I started that kind of training 2 weeks ago. So i can't talk about results, yet. In my opinion this training is superhard. My muscles are still sore 3-5 days after training. I always try to make them sore. Actually i try to eat as much as possible (3200+). I am gaining every day a bit, but nor really much (1 pound a week).
