    Spotting Horror Story

y'all wanna hear something f*cked up??

i saw one of my guys today who i haven't seen in about 2 weeks. last time i saw in he had come in while i was working, and like just walked out 20 minutes later saying his back hurt (which was totally not like him).

well today he told me the story...apparently some guy asked him if he would spot him on T-bar rows. well the guy had loaded 200lbs on it, and my friend said he didn't think the guy was gonna be able to lift it...the guy wanted ot try anyways, so he said ok and helped him out.....well he raised the t-bar for the guy and had it all the way up and was bent over with his knees locked.

the guy loses his grip on the bar and let's it fall.

my friend tried to catch it, wound up hurting his back, and pretty much fell over in pain. Old boy, who he's doing the favor of spotting, takes off. NOT TO GET HELP. the guy left the freakin gym!

    can you believe that crap?!

anyways my boy went to the hospital and it turns out he tore the muscles in his lower back and is supposed to not do any heavy movement for the next month.

and this dude's physique is on point too. he said he's already lost like 5 lbs, and he is not pleased.

moral of the story...don't be nice and try to help some jackass lift more weight then he is capable of. you might wind up getting screwed over.

well maybe cuz your pulling way more then you can handle and don't know what the hell you're doing.

i don't think he tried to catch it, like he had his hands off so much as he was still bringing it up and had kinda softened his grip when the guy let go.

either way what i can't believe is the guy left him writhing on the floor and took off.

yea, that's bs, if the guy ever comes back he should beat his ass....

Unless he really just got cocky and tried to lift too much weight and then made this story up to you so he wouldn't look dumb

no...i've watched this guy train for awhile...getting cocky isn't really his style.

also i saw the t-bar fully loaded and just lying there that day. i remember noting it, because i'd never seen anyone do a t-bar row int his gym.

This sounds like something my friend went thru, only the spotter was the messed up one.

He asked this guy to spot him while lifting heavy flat-benching, and of course some babe walks by, and the spotter stares at her, and during a heavy rep, my friend, lost control of the bar and broke his wrist because of it.
