I'm setting up a new training plan as well (in case you missed my nutrition plan suggestions),

so I would like some ideas. I am thinking into the idea that I could workout 7days a week (for the next month) and see how that works out if I increase mass.

Right now, I workout 4-5 times a week (different body part a night).

    Suggestions please...

WOW, Pr3 where the hell you been ?

I would say 7 days is way too much, but I am very interested if you are hell bent on doing it to know your results...

I think its something you should just try for a month and see how you get on.. 4 weeks is nothing really. If you really burn out you will have gained the knowledge its not for you, which is what the majority of the responses will be I guess..

Let me know how you get on ?

7 days would be fine for that particular period, just try to cycle those seven days so your not going full tilt each day. You may have trouble with your recovery time.

"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

You could do it, but it would serve no useful purpose, so why try?

You want some size? Why not train 3-4 times per week? Adding sessions will not exactly help you to gain mass. More is not always better. I would use a basic routine, such as the wannabebig routine and hit it hard and eat a lot.

P.S.-where the hell have you been??

    Ha..ha..ha...

Well guys, real life is hitting me in the face. I graduated last month. So now I am working full time, and trying to look for another full time job before they kick me out of the one I'm at.

I am seriously trying to pump up now....I gradually just made it to 142...so that's a good sign. And all that aggravating attitude I had a few months ago, it was nothing but school stress. It's funny because when I was extremely busy with school, I had time to get on the chat (remembering the good ol' days when it was just cack, latman and me on the chat!). Now that I have a little more free time, I find it hard to get on here. But I will keep in touch, thanks for wondering though.

BTW, where have you been cack? Hardly see any posts from you? When do you finish school?

If you want to gain mass you must eat like a madman, and get proper rest. Working out 7 days a week would rob you of the vital time you need for your muscles to recover. When I go to the gym there is but one goal, total annihilation of each muscle I work on, and I will not tear those particular muscles again until they have fully rebuilt themselves.

Alright, I think 7 days maybe too much. I did 6 last week, and d*mn, I was exhausted. On top of that, during the week I get only like 6 hours of sleep at the most a night, therefore, I am feeling pretty sluggish by the evening hours when I do workout.

So I am reconsidering the plan. I may go 5-6 times, but I will leave one of those days as 'anything goes' or rather, the leftover muscles, like forearms, abs, calves and perhaps push another muscle a bit further twice that week. AND...I may just start doing cardio--but just like 10 minutes--I dont want to lose weight! I just need to get rid of my little gut, which seems to just stay there depite me doing abs 3 times a week!

    Thanks for your responses.

    142?

Unless you are 4 feet tall, you need to focus on getting bigger.

You get bigger as you rest, provided you are stimulated to grow.

I would lift no more than 4 days out of 7, and focus your efforts on adding more weight to the bar, not working out more often.

    Thanks Paul.

Well, I've been stuck at that 140-142 range for the past two months!

The only reason I was thinkin' 7-days is to trick my body, but I tried last week and couldn't make it with 6-days. The reason is that I work full time and get little sleep; therefore, 7-day workout is not looking like a reality now.

But what if I get 5-6, and perhaps not strain myself for two of those days?

    Example:

    M- Shoulders/Triceps
    T- Chest/Abs
    W- Back/Bis
    T- Legs/Calves
    F- Abs/Forearms/Calves
    S- Cardio/Abs

So is this a logical step?

If you are trying to gain muscle, cut down to 3-4 days a week. Try a push/pull/leg split.

Pr3- You are forgetting a very important part of this puzzle: You grow outside of the gym, not in it! Paul is right. You should only be in the gym 3-4 days per week. You need size, don't worry so much about cardio and isolation movements. Besides, the routine you wrote up is terrible.

Like others have said, go with a push, pull, legs split. Get more sleep and make sure you are eating adequately!
