The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Proud or Mad?!

    hi guys...
Today I measured myself after 2 and half weeks of cutting.
I have lost 10 lbs during that time.

The problem here is, I thought I should get pretty defined after losing 10 lbs. I do notice more definition but not as much as i thought I would.

so, what do you guys think?
should I be happy that I lost some fat?
or should I be mad cause most likely I've alotta muscle too?

    thank you

Definitely look on the bright side and think of the fat you lost. We are all a work in progress!

it takes time,, 10lbs in 2 and half weeks is very fast maybe you cut down too much.. id say do a fwe days of bulking and then cut back trying to lose 1.5lbs a week

Out of that 10 lbs in two and half weeks I 'd say you lost quite a bit of muscle. Do you think you look better over all now? If the answer is yes be happy with you self and keep progressing. 10 lbs in around 20 days is a lot.

a lot of it depends on YOU

if you're 240lbs, losing 10lbs is a drop in the bucket

    if you're 170, it's a lot bigger deal

If your goal is to be lean, you're gonna lose SOME muscle when cutting; you could slow down as some suggest, or you cuold keep going and see how lean you can get, then carefully try to add LBM once you drop whatever additional fat you want.

I doubt you would lose muscle that fast...it's gonna be mostly water with some fat. The fat could have come from any part of your body...you'll have to keep going for muscle striations to start showing.

afew points I forgot to mention:
    1) I still go to the gym 3 times per week
    2) I do take L-Glutamine, Post-workout and before I go to sleep
    3) I do eat enough before 6-7 pm, after that it's just vegetable and fruits

    The things I changed:
    1) dropped my calories intake... now I eat a complete breakfast, then every 2 hours small meals up to 6-7 pm.
    2) before my workout I do 15 mins. of cardio
    3) I have switched my rest time from 2-3 mins per set to 60-90 secs between each set.
    4) I have decreased the weights and increased one reps
    5) I do drop sets on the last set of each exercise.
    6) I take my ECA stack
    7) and all my other supplements (protein, flax seed oil, olive oil, and multivitamins, my ZMA just finished today

I have really been working on losing weigh.
do you guys still think I've lost alotta muscle?
    thank you

Tell us your height and weight. Have your lifts gone down? Up? Stayed the same?

I don't get why you only eat fruits and vegetables after 7 pm. Why not eat protein at this time so your muscles have something to feed on while you're sleeping?

    I'm 5'9
Used to be 185 lbs almost 3 weeks ago
    now I'm 175 lbs
and I'm not sure about my weights, because I haven't tried to do as much as I did before, I brought down the weights to do my reps with proper form and with a slow motion.

I only have whey protein and I heard on empty stomach whey is useless. So I eat fruits just to keep my metabolism going.
what do you suggest? I don't want to eat much after 6-7 pm, even nonfat milk has a lot of carbs in it.
what do you think I should eat?

    Goin_Big...
when i was bulking I used to take 120 g jus' the powder... and the rest was supplied with food (tuna, chicken breast and etc)

NOw I've cut down my protein powder intake to 75-80 g per day and I still eat high protein foods before 6-7 pm.
