    1000 new goal reached on Leg Press pounds

    Now i no its not good to brag and people cutt heads off around hear for it but I dont care. I also no the Leg Press is not the best way to test your strenth compared to squats butt.... I have started my own leg press routine that I have benn doing for 3 months now which I will changed up soon. Before I never really concentrated on legs super heavy so I thought I would start on the leg Press to get ready for squats. Any way 3 months ago my Leg Press was aroound 700 for about 8 reps. I have finally reached 1'000 pounds for 6 reps. I am verry excited I allways wanted to hit this number and by sticking to my routine I have slowly reached my first goal. Now im may work on form and try to move over to squats.
    Age 23 Height 5'10 weight 210 2 years complete of serious lifting.
    At 5'10" last Jan/02 I was 280 Lbs with a 44 waist.
    Now as of Dec/02 I am 210 with a 34-36 waist. A year complete 70 pounds lost now lets get big .

    I havent atempted any thing higher than 95 pounds, I am scared of the squat cage cause its uncomfertable but it is time for change. I havent attempted since my junior year in high school football team wich was 4 years ago. That was probally no more than 225. But I no I am verry capable of putting up some numbers. I have to learn to deal with the ballance and presure on front of knees. Give me 3 weeks and I should be hitting something more reasonable. And my first goal is 6 plates not sure it its to much buts sounds like some thing reachable. I am also trying to change my routine any advice out there. My last routine I made up and it was very effective. Now I want a new one its been 3 months.

    i love it on my legs day and do it on friaday night when the gym isnt soo busy so i can use all three exercises with no one bitching.

    the squats at the end are only suppose to be half of regular weight, well you will read all about it

    big kevin i had the same problem w/ the balance.someone showed me this method and ive been tits since.take 2 10 lb plates and stand on them w/ ur heels.its way more secure IMO

    congratz on the lift... that's one of my goals, too . . . there's just something about the 1000-lb mark. Half a ton. It's magical, kinda.

    Ya dude squat though. I weigh 150lbs and I am reaching 450lbs squat. I dont know how much I can do on the leg press though.

    You know I'm going to just start putting 500 lbs on the bar and bending my knees, then claiming I can squat it.

    What's the point in all my hard work actually taking the goddamn thing to parallel and at least attempting a halfway decent depth when every yahoo with a computer to hide behind can "squat 400 lbs."

    Scruples...First off pussy... I am verry capable of doing way more than 95 pounds!!! That should be obvious. I just started my new routine and have not had a chance to do squats yet. Friday is my leg day and that will be my first attempt since highschool. Dick!!! If you fu*king read you will se I am just now moving over to squats. I just changed routines give me a couple of weeks to get balance and form down then my numbers will be much higher. I never said thats all I am capable of, but thats all I put on the bar.
    What are your nubers?

    Don't listen. There's one in every group... some nay-sayer who probably hasn't even come close to moving an impressive amount of weight.

    I went for a few years without squatting a single pound. I used the sled, leg ext., leg curl, seated and standing calf raises... I got a pretty decent workout on legs.

    That's not too say that I don't think squats are the superior exercise... squatting is my favorite thing. I am just saying that you can get there in other ways.

    It may be time to look in to squatting, Dude.

    Thank You W8 4 ME seriously... I am adding squats to my routine now, because I relize thats squats are the all around great lift. Squats are my newest goal and I plan for it to be one of my better lifts once i get the form down.
