    Weightlifting belt!

Does anyone think this is any use for squats and deadlifts? Would it be beneficial for my back?

    Cheers

You are best off without. Build natural strength in your torso and you will never have any back problems.

I personally prefer to use one during back and leg excersies.

No. If your back is weak, strengthen it. Keep your form perfect and the weight you're using under control and you shouldn't ever need a belt.

I would not like to perform a 500 pound deadlift or squat without a belt.

That is a fair point, but IMO you should build natural strength in the back and as a beginner (not sure if wowbaby is or not) it is advisable to train raw.
