    Diet is the determining factor in cutting. Lifting will help you retain the muscle and keep metabolism elevated.

    You can optimize your lifting for cutting, but its not necessary.

    my lifting stays the same. only diet changes.

    Are you able to progress with your lifts (do you get stronger) when you're on a cutting cycle? Or do you settle for maintainence?
