Dudes, it's weird.. Does anyone else's sternum "crackle" when you do certain motions?
Sometimes, usually in the morning, if I flex my chest really hard with my arms crossed over my chest, then hold the flex while I bring my arms out to the sides for a hard double bicep pose, my sternum will make all sorts of snapping and cracking noises. Is this normal? It never hurts at all, I'm just worried about future problems that might arise in my sternal tendons or something..

I work out because I have two daughters.....and one day they'll be teenagers.
probably the same thing with knuckles, the gases in them popping..
I can suck in my stomach and crack my sternum all the time. I don't think it's anything out of the ordinary.

Your strenum is made out of cartilage while your ribs are bone. They connect by muscle and bone fusion. It's kind of a joint...so yea it's like when you pop your knuckles, just air being released. No big deal.
When I extend my arms and lean backwards, my sternum cracks.
