    5x5 method.......?

    What are the benefits of the 5x5 method and also ,do you do any warm up sets?
    One must want to become a BUTTERFLY so much,that one is willing to give up being a CATERPILLAR......

    The benefit is that you get to learn to use the search button and see the massive amount of threads on 5x5 (most by MonStar).

    yes.. do a search for MonStar and you'll find PLENTY of 5x5 questions.

    i just warm up with the bar (maybe 10 reps).. if you warm up with anything more then you're not going to have the full energy and strength for the 5x5..

    I do 2 warmup sets after stretching the intended musclegroup. For example if I am doing my 5x5 for chins Ill stretch out my rear delts, lats, biceps, forearms, etc. And then do -20 for 6 reps for chins, BW for a triple. And then my worksets of 5x5.

    Works well for strength and hypertrophy I think.
