    Big Fat Greek Wedding

    Have you seen it?
    I liked it.

It's worth the money, you'll like it especially if culture plays a large role in your wedding plans.

"Test all things; hold fast what is good.": 1 Thessalonians 5:21

"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

I haven't seen it but i saw a bit about it. It was supposed to be a low budget indy film. Tom Hanks found out about it, directed or produced it and gave it exposure. Heard great things about it, wanna see it.

Talk about the "role culture plays in your wedding plans". I got married in the Philippines! That was an interesting experience, to say the least!

I d seen it twice when I was in Greece..
Well if you re Greek you find the movie more enjoyable..
I laughed a lot when I first saw it. I was not offensed by the fact that what the movie presents is not so accurate cuz above all it's a comedy.

Two days ago I went with some mates to watch the Bourne Identity in the Odeon and I noticed that the Big fat Greek wedding was sold-out..
That's really impressive for a $5mil. budget movie.

I saw it with some friends and we laughed our a$$es off...all of us have seriously ethnic relatives and could relate! It's a really funny movie...

I'm gonna have a very culturally influenced wedding. Russian mail-order bride (prolly Jane) and cheapest place possible in Las Vegas. And of course, consummation on a mini-golf green.

Another reason I liked it was that there are rarely anymore feel good movies. Movies that contain clean humor and have a positive moral to the story. Another movie that comes to mind is "I Am Sam." It was another great feel good story, with a positive outcome. Nowadays there's just too much negativity, uneeded sex, violence and vulgar language, which in most cases cheapens the movie.

That movie was hysterical. I was on the floor laughing the entire time. Windex!!!

Gotta love the Canadian chick who wrote it, she's brilliant and she can act.

American cars are like fat people, sure, they have a lot of power, but they're not built well, and they have all that useless weight, plus they make both make funny noises.
