I am sure that Crossfit has something to do with it, which is somewhat unfortunate because I believe that they could have co-existed with NGPL as the 'king' for teams and then Crossfit being the primary spot for the individual superstars (and some crossover between the two).
Yeah, but again, Glassman created CrossFit and I can see him wanting to do what he is doing. I would do the same I think.

I can appreciate his position, I see the NGPL as more of the 'arena league' allowing some of the athletes who maybe were not the NFL (or in this case 'games') caliber to still do what they enjoy full time and potentially develop in to something more if they are earlier in their athletic career or have the potential. The risk was that some of the top 'games' athletes were participating in NGPL and so if the money or exposure became larger than Crossfit it could pose a risk to the business at some point... although that would take years for that to happen based on what I have seen thus far.

Guess we'll have to wait and see if other investors step in or if this is venture is done.

I'll be curious to see how it does.

Looks like Grid is still alive, although I have not been following things very closely so I do not know the details of their funding.

I watched a few minutes of the DC competition. It didn't really do a good job explaining what they were doing, or the rules etc, of the event. One thing Crossfit games telecasts do well is explaining the movements and rules. The GRID thing I watched just looked helter skelter to me, and I'm more familiar with Crossfit than the average Joe.

Plus it looked cheesy. The team coach out there in a suit? Really?

Where was it televised, or did you watch a webcast?
