If I had to decide when I had an empty stomach, i'd probably wait till my stomach started gargling/rumbling, cos then you know the stomach acid is eating away at yer stomach ;o

Well, when you have surgery, don't they tell you to not eat after midnight the day before?

it depends on the foods consumed (solid or liquid) and the nutritional density of the food item(s)...

liquids, even those that are nutritionaly dense are quickly moved to the small intestine. for solid food items the majority of digestion takes place in the stomach...

It all depends on what you eat, solid, liquid, and there are even differences withing those groups as to what the food is made up of
Second place is just a generic term your mom created to make you not feel bad about losing, because second place is actually first loser!

If you sups say to take on an empty stomach, take them about 10 or 15 min before your meal. You should be ok with that.
If at first you don't succeed, take 5 lbs. off and try again.
