The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    I want larger bicepts

I have a 110 lbs weight set that I recently bought. A couple of months ago (laugh all you want), I could barely do 3 curls with a 30lb dumbell. Now I can do at lest 15. My bicepts obviously haven't gotten any bigger.

I recently went up to 36lbs which I can only do 3 of in good form. The rest (I always do 10 in a set), I use my other arm to get it up a little and let my arm do the rest of the work.

When I do these workouts I feel sore as hell and as the weeks go by, I notice almost no improvement.

Someone please tell me how to increase the size of my bis and tris with dumbells. This is all I have to work with for now. Maybe my diet sucks?

You're going to have to eat more and get big everywhere.

I take it the jump from 30 to 36 lbs is the smallest jump you can do with your set. You might try doing barbell curls for awhile. You can also get some smaller plates that will let you make smaller incremental jumps in weight. If you can't find or afford small plates (1.25 or 2.5 lbs) you can get a bunch of flat washers and add them for smaller weight jumps. If you have trouble finding washers of the appropriate internal diameter, you can order them online at McMaster-Carr. Search on flat washers.

Don't be disappointed by the lack of size gains within the first few months of lifting. The gains that people make in the first few months are due to nervous system training, not muscular growth. The muscles will start getting bigger in short time.

Dude if ya want a peak you gotta do lateral reverse incline preacher curls or hanging reverse lateral cable incline curls!!! You just gotta! Oh yeah and take Muscle-tech supplements. As long as you take muscle-tech supplments you don;t have to worry about your diet.

That was for you accipter. Ok now I feel obligated to give real advice after saying such stupid things. Try varying the reps in your sets. Like set one do 6 reps with the most weight you can do then 9, and 12 respectivly. And eat. Thats the biggest thing that you can do to help. Go and search for all your diet questions.

hey man there's no need for that, it is obvious that he is an inexperienced lifter and needs help with getting to grips with bodybuilding.

My tip would be to do searches on the site and gather as much info as possible, try and adopt one of the wbb routines as a starting point.
