My first gym membership and routine

Hey ppl just thought that i'd tell u that i joined my first gym today

It is relatively small but it'll do

My routine is as follows this is what the trainer put me on after telling him my goals (size and strength)

All exercises are 3 sets 8-10 reps

    Lat pull down
    Pec dec
    Shoulder press
    Bicep curls
    Tricep extensions
    Bit of bike
    Bit of rowing (machine)

He's gonna put me on some more stuff next week as i didn't have enough time today

There is limited equipment in the gym
    No barbells
Dumbells go up to 10kg or 22lbs
No bench for bench press or other such exercises
No chinning bar (have one at home)

In know that just about everyone on this board has a split where they do like back on monday and legs on wednesday but i dont think theres enough equipment in the gym to do this

    Thanks for n e replys
    p.s age 15 weight 130lbs or 9stone and a bit 5ft 9''high

I know u lot are gonna tell me to eat so go ahead if u want

well there's nothing wrong with a basic gym for someone that's just starting

but as you progress and grow you will no doubt find that that gym is lacking the tools you'll need

I hope the membership is cheap.

Yeah, you're going to want to leave there quite soon I would gather. Once you surpass those weights they have there. Good for you for taking the next step though

If you train right in a few weeks you'll need a new gym. 10 kg dumbells??

So, it's basically a room with 4 walls and a dozen dumbbells? Doesn't sound like much of a gym. Might as well work out at home using buckets full of dirt.

I pay little over 40 (canadian.. so apprx. $4 us) a month for my gym, whoever asked.

And that is not much of a gym. In a few weeks (if not already) you will need more. You might want to look into buying a bench (used if you can.. i bought mine for 10 dollars), a barbell, adjustable dbs, and some weights if you can't find another nearby. For someone who's goals are size and strength, that gym isn't the place.

But good job on joining the gym, and setting those goals for yourself. At 15 I had the will power to work out once every year, and otherwise I didn't care too much. Hope you enjoy it.

    Thanks for the reply's everyone

Nights: I am getting a set of adjustabke db's and a barbell tomorrow in fact. Been looking at some benches but they are a bit expensive.

Everyone else: The problem wiv moving to a different gym is my age. I tried another gym but they wanted a birth certificate to say that i was 16 or over and im not. It was a pretty well equipped gym to. Any other gym will proabably be to far away for me to travel as well.

Look in the classifieds. At least around here, there's always someone selling a bench for cheap. Broken dreams and all that. Or try pawn shops, etc.
