As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

Again, I appreciate all of the kind words. I will post some upper body pics soon, but I want to get a better camera first. The reason I posted that pic is to hopefully add some validity to what I have to say. I understand that it is hard to believe someone over the internet, but I assure you, I don't b.s. people and if I tell you something you can take it to the bank! I know that there are plenty of people out there who are bigger and stronger than me, but I am bigger and stronger than 90%+ of the trainees out there and the ones who are bigger/stronger than me either have better genetics or take drugs, or both. I am not saying these things to brag, if you knew me in my everyday life, you would know that I am not a braggart, I am actually quite the opposite! I am just very passionate about weightlifting/bodybuilding and I KNOW that I have a lot to offer trainees out there. I KNOW that what I have to say to the weightlifters of the world can help them to achieve whatever they want from training, and it will help them to get there a lot quicker than any other way they will read. You know, I do have a big head about bodybuilding, but not for self promotion or gratification, rather it is because I love it and I love helping other people! Really! I hope you will believe me when I say these things.......

Just for the record, I do appreciate and understand what drives you. I have the same passion, to know all I can, and to help everyone I can. I also have no problem with you on a personal level.

I also don't feel that your methods are necessarily wrong.

Where I differ is that I don't believe that what you espouse is the *only* way to train for everyone--

I believe that what you recommend does have a place for those seeking muscle mass, but I also don't think its the entire picture, either.

There are other forms of training which can be included even in mass programs to supplement the restricted-set, high-density, moderate load training you recommend.

Not to mention the fact that training in that fashion isn't the optimal way for most competitive athletes, not including bodybuilders, to train.

That's the source of my beef with what you have to say-- not that you're methods wrong, just that they're incomplete, and you seem almost *violently* unwilling to even consider the possibility that there might be ways of improving the philosophy you preach.

That's the whole point of my journal-- to prove that there are ways above and beyond restricted-set, high-density, moderate-load training to improve strength.

All I'd like is for you to just consider the possibility that maybe there are other ways to get strong, and ways to enhance your recommendations for mass training.

    PS-- Nice legs

I appreciate the complement. Actually, I do realize that there are other training methods which will work, the difference to me is that I know they will not work as well. That is the crux of my raison d'etre, educating people about weightlifting and the body and letting them know the most effective method to achieve their goals.

    Great work Chris.
...it's more friendly for trainers to say, "yeah, we can help you tone up!" rather than saying, "yeah, we can help you get rid of that fat ass!"

Damned nice, Chris! You have some pretty nice legs there. One thing I noticed though.. How come you're under developed in that area between your legs? You know what I mean? Looks like something might be missing... Just kiddin', bud! Good job!

Chris, my legs are also about 28 inches at the top, where you measured from. But my legs don't look nearly as big as yours right above the knee? Why is that? Is that mostly genetic, or have I just not developed those muscles well enough yet?
