    Weighted dips/chins

    How do you guys do your weighted dips/chins? I know there is a belt for this but I was wondering if their was any other way for me to do weighted dips and chins.

    hold a DB between your feet. just stick w/ the belt since you can load up some heavy weight.

    Hurts though if you haven't got decent straps on it ;/
    Ok for low weights though, or higher weights if you got a decent backpack.

    I used to use a backpack as well. Until you get into serious weight, they work fine. I still feel a dip belt is a wise investment.

    i use a back pack still
    i recomend north face, that baby holds up 90 lbs with ease

    those of u who use backpacks, do u use them in the gym? would they allow it?

    I think the belts work best.. I tried the backpack thing and the damn straps broke.. The DB works good when you dont have a belt available..

    I used to use a backpack before I got a belt. Evertime I would stuff some plates in it everybody stared at me. I guess they thougt I was going to steal them.
    Yeah you'd probably prefer a dip belt over a backpack, I know I would.
    Squat - 505
    Bench - 325
    Deadlift - 550
    Total - 1380@175

    the belt at my gym disappeared. so i stick a db between my feet on the dip rack. but you can also do dips with 2 benches, hence behind the back dips. i use 4 45 pound plates and do drop sets.

    for chins i stick the db between my feet

    real dips are ace and more effective imo
