The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

I was reading in the latest FLEX, in Kevin Levrone's own section of the magazine. And he had, what I think is an awesome idea!! He is saying about how he is going to bring up this idea at the Mr.Olympia conference. You know how the fans are the ones who really drive the sport and keep it going, well his idea is to have the fans judge and vote for who the real Mr.O should be. He says for the judges to narrow it down to 3 people, then the fans vote from there on. And it will take heat off of the judges and it would allow the athletes know who the real Mr.O is. I think that this would bring a lot more people coming to the shows, and it would be very good for the sport. It would make the fans feel more important and knowing that their vote acutally counts. What do you guys think about this??
It takes TIME + PATIENCE to make gains.

If you were not a well liked bodybuilder you would get screwed no matter what. Kevin is just saying that because he knows fans like him much more than people like Ronnie.

    I LIKE SHAWN RAYS IDEA

A question was asked to Shawn Ray about how he feels about the judging. Many of us know that Shawn Ray is one of the most outspoken critics of the way the IFBB uses its judges. Shawn replied that in this sport, the IFBB does not rotate the judges every year, and he wishes that they would, thus brining in different opinions. If there is a pool of 50 judges, use 12 of them this year for the Mr. Olympia, then 12 different judges the following year, and so on. He says that there is a problem with consecutive judges each year. Why not try a different way? This answer drew a lot of applause from the audience. He did clarify that he never said that these judges were not qualified. He also said that all of the past three Mr. Olympia winners were 5'11", about 260 pounds (Lee Haney, Dorian Yates, Ronnie Coleman). He wishes more accurate judging for shorter athletes, and some fans also piped in that this view should also be for the over 6 foot athletes too. Afterwards, many people agreed with Shawn Ray's vision of the judging format, but the IFBB did not have a comment on this, but said they would look into it.

This was Shawn Rays Idea for fair judging and I like it

Kevin's idea wouldn't take the b.s. out of bbing judging. It would still be fixed, or at the very least biased towards the people that Joe and Ben Weider want to win.

why do we not get people to vote at ice sakting and gymnastic competitions as well. lets have the olympics gold medalist in ice skating voted for by the crowd?
this would cause problems as people oftne vote for the home town lad as eg dorain yates would get better reception at a bb event in the uk, while lee presist would get better score in australia etc this kind of problem would come into play. and also persoanlity would be a big factor as well, as with most sports the most favourite sport star also has personality as well, evne though they might not be the very best.

Letting the fans judge would take all of the objectivity out of the competition....what little there is!
