The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

took second in strongman. . .

I have a friend that runs a SM comp in northern ontario and I did the second annual one this year and took second place. .I won the tire flip and the truck tire deadlift event. .I missed first place by one half second by placing that far behind the first plave guy in the loading event. . .I compete in bbuilding and I did this at the last minute with no training other than my regular bbuild stuff. . .I must say it is a blast so if you have any aspirations of doing strng man comps; try it!

That was realy fun as well. I must say the powerlift world is more friendly in the comps than bbuild. .not so much ego I guess.. sucks that I love bbuilding so much hahah. .

    Strongman is teh cool.
    Squats work better than supplements.
"You know, if I thought like that, I'd never put more than one plate on the bar for anything, I'd never use bands or chains, I'd never squat to parallel or below, and I'd never let out the slightest grunt when I lift. At some point in your lifting career (assuming you're planning on getting reasonably strong and big), you're going to have to accept that most people think you are some kind of freak." -Sensei

Well, I am moving to the UK jan 14th and my friends there say SM comps are huge there in Europe so I should be able to hook up with some implements to train with after I do my bbuild show in june. . .I plan on doing some specific event training and then will do the comp in sept. . I will keep you posted on it. .it really all depends on whether I place well in the bbuild show. .if I do then all other stuff is on the back burner as I will be getting ready for the top show in canada.

Cool beans. How hard you find it to juggle BBing and the more strength-related sports? Obviously there's overlap, but say you could get success in both, how would you manage the two? Obviously you can't compete in strongman comps while dieting for a show..

    well, you are right:-)

It would be hard to do both seriously at the same time. I don't train pwlft or strngman at all and I guess I just have natural ability when it comes to the events I have done. I will say that sm comps and pwlft have a lot to do with psych-up ability and how much drive you have. . .when I compete I am an animal to say the least. . .I scare myself sometimes I get so mentally pumped before and during an event. . .
I am off to bed as I have to get up and take my woman to the gym . .she is only 3 weeks away from finishing a muscletech shape up. . .:-) I will check in for replied in the AM!
(We just got engaged tonight). .:-)

well, I would be willing to go anywhere that it is cheaper but the fact remains that I need to be able to access the tube system and anything close to that is more expensive by the looks of it. . .any suggestions would be helpful!!
