The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    New Year 1.1.03

    Year 03'

    Well this is brand New Year. Is time to put 02' behind us and start all over again.

    - - It was in 1.1.01 when I decided it was time to change my body. I made a goal to lose weight, and in no time, I had lost 60lbs! This past year (2002) I was focused in gaining lean muscle mass(bulking). I went from 165-170 to 210lb during last year. Sure it was not all pure muscle but did pack on a good amount of muscle.

    - - The first half of 03' will be focused on dropping my BF. Sure its a slow progress but I dont want to lose much hard earned muscle.

    - - Second half of 03' will be spent on packing quality muscle. A slow bulk maintaining a low bf is key.

    1.3.03

    1.2.03 WORKOUT

    Today was my real 15's workout with the load I should had been using. I felt like crap. When I finished my 235lb x 15 squat I felt like fainting. I was about to pass out. I felt my eyes closing and short in breath. This is happen on several occasions before but not as bad. In fact, I felt wasted throughout the whole workout. I managed to use the surggested poundage but felt like like passing out after every set.

    Week 2 Day 1 of 15s
    Squat (235lb x 15)
    SLDL (140lb X 15) (140 X 15)
    DB Bench (50lb x15) (50 x 15)
    Pull Down (105lb x 15) (105 x 15)
    Cable Row (135lb x 15) (135 x 10) --> I was to wasted!
    DB Shrugs (60lb x 15) ( 60 x 15)
    BB Mil. Press ( 95lb x 15 )
    Lat Raiser (20lb x 15)
    Upright Row (50lb x 15)
    DB Curls (25lb x 15) (25 x 15) --> Light but HUGE pump!
    Tri. Press Down ( 60lb x 15) (60 x 15)
    Calves (160lb x 15) (160 x 15)
    *ABS*

    To avoid this lack of glycogen I will be lifting on my carb up days. Only one day will be done without any carbing up. But I will consume a total of 60g of carbs before lifting. It will look like this:

    Day 1 - CARDIO -> 0-30 g of carbs
    Day 2 - LIFTING -> 350-500G of carbs (CARB UP 1)
    Day 3 - CARDIO -> 0-30 g of carbs
    Day 4 - LIFTING -> 55-100G of carbs
    Day 5 - CARDIO -> 0-30 g of carbs
    Day 6 - LIFTING -> 350-500G of carbs (CARB UP 2)
    Day 7 - CARDIO -> 0-30 g of carbs

    SUNDAY 1.5.03

    1.4.03 WORKOUT

    Here is the low down:
    Friday I fell asleep very late. I had to get up to work at 6 am! Well I then worked from 6:30am till 3:00 pm, mind you, I was standing up all that time. I did CARBED UP so I had tons of energy at the gym. Well after getting out of my job, I had to walk home. That wasa real bitch, cuase, I was sore and I had to go up a huge a-ss hill. It took 45minutes to get home from my job. As you can imagine I was VERY tired.

    After having about 320g of CARBS I did not expirience any feelings that I had on the last workout. I felt GREAT. I really messed up the SQUAT. I was too freakin sore could not handle more.

    Week 2 Day 2 of 15s
    Squat (225lb x 10) I was sore like a biotch.
    SLDL (145lb X 15) (145 X 15)
    DB Bench (55lb x15) (55 x 15) I did much better then last workout.
    Pull Down (120lb x 15) (120 x 10) Messed 2nd set up.
    Cable Row (150lb x 15) (135 x 12) I was to wasted!
    DB Shrugs (65lb x 15) ( 65 x 15) Too easy
    DB Mil. Press ( 65lb x 8 ) WHOA, totally messed up!
    Lat Raiser (20lb x 15)
    Upright Row (50lb x 15)
    DB Curls (25lb x 15) (25 x 15) Easier then last workout..
    Tri. Press Down ( 70lb x 15) (70 x 15)
    Calves (180lb x 15) (180 x 15)
    *ABS*

    Chest - Dont even ask..these svckers are sore!

    Abs - Damn! thats all I have to say.

    Legs - MY LORD. I never had my A-S-S sore. Hams and quads are very sore.

    I played basketball for 2 hours yesterday and today about 5 hours straight, my legs are killing me, Im sure your legs are the most sore It's weird though, once you start moving around you don't notice it as much but when you sit down and get up... ahh

    Anyways, awesome progress dude, make sure you keep up with the good work. I can't wait to see the end result of your cutting, whats your bf% range you want to reach? like 9-10%? Your back is good... lats look really wide, your biceps look like they have really good peak, especially the left. And your legs are amazing...

    Great work.

    IGNORE:

    Goodfellas

    1. It seemed apparent that Henry Hill was in need of respect and attention. Henry lived in a tiny house with six of his family members. Rather then attending school, Henry though it was better to hang out with the wise guys. He held a job at the cab-stance and parked Cadillacs for the wise guys. Henry felt like the luckiest kid in the whole world, he was making more money then the grown ups on the neighborhood. Henry would skip school and work at his new job, and did so for months. After receiving a notice from school, Henry’s father was not happy and beat him down. The boys threatened the mailman to not make any more delivery to the kid’s house. Henry felt that he actually belonged to a family, of wise guys, and was treated with respect. Everything that was not receiving at home, he was from the guys.

    2. “Your broke your cherry” The first words that Henry received after he was free of the charges (accused of selling illegal cigarettes). Paulie and the cab crew greeted Henry proudly. This was a major step for Henry, because, he was now part of the mob life. This scene was the major turning point for the future of Henry. He was now part of this special group of Wise Guys. Had Henry rated the cab guys, well, there would be doubts he was going to out and alive. He begun to learn the trade secrets of being a mobster.

    3. By the time Henry was 23, 1963, he had become sucked into the mob life completely. He was seduced into the irresistible life of the mob. Henry at this point in the movie was already part of the heists at the airports. They tried to steal every bit of cargo that passed by Idlewild Airport, where they had connections that worked for them. According to Henry, robbing the Airport was an ever bigger business then Citibank. These guys felt as though they had it all, money and power.

    4. The Air France heist was a great catch for the guys. It seemed just like the perfect heist, with well over $40 Millions that were stolen. Little did everyone know that the heist become the turning point of their lives. Since everyone benefited from the heist and received a large sum of money. Everyone begun to spend money and the fear grew. Little by little everyone begun to panic, Henry and the guys begun killing people that were most likely to rat them out. One by one the cops begun to make arrests and had uncovered the whole mob sting.

    5. Henry becomes the one who rats all the gangsters out. In order for henry to save his own tail, he had to spill over the detail about the mob life. In return he would get a free pass from jail and would be protected by the police. His wife become hysterical when she could not visit her parents, ever. They had to have different identities and moved to live the normal life. Henry hated this new life of his and missed the old mobster life.

    Monday 1.27.03

    Finally I got some time to post..

    I carbed up this last weekend..And it was amazing carb up because the results showed today.. I had endless energy today..

    HST : WEEK 5 Day 3

    3rd of 5's. Here are the highlights

    Squat: 295 x 5 --> I was VERY surprised at my squat today. Because On saturday I only did 275 x 5 and struggled to do the 5th rep. Not today, today It was up and down like nothing. ...315LB by Wednesday!

    SLDL: 205 x 5 -- easy.

    Pull Down: 150 x 5.. these were somewhat easy, I had not gone that high for ahwile.

    Cable Row: 155 x 5 .. again too easy for me..with perfect form too..

    db Shrugs 85 x 5 .. that was joke.. where are the 120's!

    Mil. Press (front) 145x 5 Another joke? Man gimme 175..jesh.

    That about did it.. I had a awesome day.. I took some ZMA i think that helped BIG TIME. I am pretty sure, along with the carb up from the weekend too..

    Starting to tan within one month.. 3x a week for the first 1-2 months. I have to be in top condition going to CUBA this summer...I cant wait!..Go back..
