The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Worlds Strongest Man competition

For those who are interested, ESPN will be showing the Worlds Strongest Man competition on New Years Day pretty much all day long. They showed most of the 2002 competition today (Mariusz Pudzianowski is just a beast). Not sure what will be shown on 1/1/03 but it was shown in my Tivo linup so i thought i'd share. Worlds Strongest Woman competition will also be on 1/1/03. Only two 1/2 hour episodes, but still.

    Happy Early New Years!

they sure are strong, doing 150-70kgs for 19reps over their heads last time I saw them, the weight must have been false! hehe.

Anyways Svend Karlsen is a typical norwegian powerlifter, I dont like him to much, he is strong, but not the brigthest guy around.
A big thanks to all my friends in the USA, I am deeply grateful for your hospitality and kindness.

    I wouldn't imagine so.

no i saw the polish guy before, he's very ripped, he has better definition than most people on this board, (remember the less useless fat he has on his body the less he has to carry when he does things that involve his bodyweight)
    Chris Mason is my master.....

American cars are like fat people, sure, they have a lot of power, but they're not built well, and they have all that useless weight, plus they make both make funny noises.

feel free to aim me, nejar462 im on a lot. Don't know much to warn you dudes, but im good at conversations.

Puginowski (or whatever his exact name is) is one ripped strongman! He is definitely one of the leanest ever. Joaka Ahola and John Paul Sigmarsson (I have probably butchered all of their names, so please forgive me) were also very lean, and very successful strongmen.

A lot of the newer strongmen are coming in ripped up and stronger than hell. I think a large part can be attributed to advances in anabolics and advances in the type of training routines they use. I saw a guy today deadlift what they said was 695lbs 12 times.

Yeah, you're right. Those guys are all just lard asses.

How about 300 lbs of pure muscle?
Mariusz Pudzianowski after winning the 2002 contest

I would give my left nut to have this guys strength and physique. Not sure if anyone else who watched noticed, but Johnny Perry from the USA died this year (2002). Had a heart attack at age 30. Too bad because he was probably the biggest guy i've ever seen. 6'5" and 375lbs. Wow.
