    New routine critique and questions

    Hi all,

    I am putting a routine together... I only want to spend about an hour working out.... I plan to train everyother / every 2 days depending on recovery...

    Day 1 Chest/Shoulders/Triceps

    Day2 Back/Biceps

    Day3 Legs

    each workout will start with 5 mins cardio to warm up followed by stretching and will finish with 10-15 mins cardio and a warm down/stretch.

    Each body part is worked using 2 exercises - compound movement and an 'isolator' for 3 sets of 8-12. Last set being to 'failure'.

    My questions - should shrugs be done on shoulder or back day, and how often to do abs?

    I do shrugs on back day. I would do abs no more than twice a week. I personally rarely do abs.

    i have the same exact split as you and been using for awhile now and enjoy it majorly!

    i recently though started doing legs and shoulders together for time constraints on chest/tri day...

    u got a similar outline to mine

    i do quads, hams, calves on day 1 (legs)
    chest, shoulders, tris on day 2
    back, bicep, abs on day 3

    i would do shrugs on shoulder day , but its ur own preference really, can go either way

    do abs at most twice a week, but i'd say do it on bicep n back day, n go full intensity on that, do weighted sit ups n all that
