    Training Partners?

Do any of you train just by yourself or do you have a training partner?

I have no partner for a year now. I get gains good but some times I wish I did for that extra rep you can barely make. I stay to myself in the gym. The only exercise I feel the need for a spotter is the squat and the bench. Even though I never ask for one when I should. End result. I may be cutting my slef short of working as hard as I could. But in the the long run my strength gains still slowy increases so my work pays off.

    im not
im doing it because i wanna be in shape again, and some added muscle would be a bonus. if i have to spend an hour at the gym everyday, i might as well make it something i enjoy, while im lifting now and 6 months down the road, when im finnaly seeing the results i want. its probably not the "making fun" that your thinking. when my friend doesnt go (cardio days) i joke around with whoever im running with or whoever is on the cycles next to me. i like making myself and others laugh, having that game face for an hour everyday doesnt come close to working my face muscles like laughing does. besides its a huge huge huge gym on the military base i live near, youd be surprised at some of the people that go there!

I haven`t done a day without a partner since 2001. A partner might not be technically necessary for extreme work-out (even though forced reps, negatives and pauses are impossible without), but when training with someone I manage to overcome mental blocks and build that right frame of mind that gives me the needed extra push.

Thats strange, you go to the gym with your friend and don't train together. I take it both of you have different goals then or does your friend just train for fitness or something?

Same goals, different routines. We dont allwayas get to go together, because of different work shedules, only a third of the time.

I work out at home by myself. I've had a few instances when I've needed a spotter. Been trapped under the bench a couple times.
I am cool beyond all natural explanation.

It would be nice to have a spotter, maybe I am not doing as many reps as I can. But I don't think I would like a partner. This way I do my routine. I suppose it would be nice cause you wouldn't skip a day. I wo at home and I think its better for time.

I workout with my dad. I have surpassed him in strength, but he is a varisty football coach, so he helps me watch my form and do a lot of things right. I wouldn't be near as strong as I am now without him.
