I am considering a 3-4 day fast as a quick way to shed some fat. Am I on the right track here, or will a fast take muscle with it?
I just read this somewhere: For every pound you lose, 60% is muscle and only 40% is fat. In this case, I think that would prove true.
In any case, if you are looking to gain muscle, fasting would probably be the number one thing you DON'T want to do.
Oh, you'll lose a bit of muscle in there. Fasting is probably the stupidest thing you can do to shed fat.

During the fasting your body begins to go into storage mode. When you start eating again your body will store up all the fat it can again still thinking you are still fasting. You might lose some fat during those few days and some muscle but after you're done you'll gain all that fat back and a little bit more plus be down a few pounds of muscle too.
In simpler words: dont' do it.

Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.
Thats what I needed to know. On with the eating
Not to mention 3-4 fast is going to require some will power or chemical toys. Bad idea.
