    Training back to back

    Is it just as good to train back to back vs. having a days rest in between? Opinions please!

    post your split and i will take a look, but IMOworking back and chest on the same day is a bad idea

    I have not had ill effects from back to back days provided my diet and rest are sufficient. That said, I have never had a good workout on the third day in a row. I usually have at least one day in between sessions.

    I'll normally hit it Mon & Tues then take Wednesday off. Back in Thurs and maybe Friday & Sat.

    It seems to me this is a very individual thing. Depends on so many variables, such as diet, rest/sleep, genetics, training intensity, split, volume, type, personal preference, mindset, (gear if any) etc, etc. etc.
    Cortisol is the enemy.

    Remember, it is not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game.

    very individual.. some people can handle it, others can't. For the example you posted, back and chest one day, and then tris and bis the next.. my arms wouldn't be fully healed from chest and back day, so I'd be moving way less weight.. course, this would mean they were easier to kill I suppose.

    I've done it before, never for a long period of time (just when my schedule gets so mixed up I train whenever I can).. can't say my progress slowed down, but I was wiped as can be. Course, other factors definitely could have come to play there.

    I was all for the chest & tri's back & bi's routine, but a trainer suggested that I try the chest, back and the tri and bi routine to see how it works. His claim was it was better to train the opposite muscle goups the same day. I don't know which is better. I know I LOVE doing my bi's and tri's together. What a pump!
