The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Hack Squats / Leg Press

What do you guys think about replacing the hack squats in WBB#1 with leg presses?

My reason is that I HATE hack squats. They're uncomfortable as hell. Therefore, I can't work at full intensity. I can work at higher intensity on the leg press. Sound logical?

I would consider just shutting the hell up and doing them anyway if you feel they'll benefit me more.

BTW...I'm attempting to lose BF right now. You might take that into consideration, since I think hacks are more comound because it takes more secondary muscles to keep me stabilized in the motion.

I know exactly what you are talking about. But I would continue on the hack squat they are hard and not comfertable because this may be your week point. Slowly increase your weight and you will do better eventually. I would try to get use to doing some of the harder exercises you dread they will make you stronger on your week points. For me its the squat and the hack squat but I have been able to add allot more weight on the hack squat since I have been trying to imrove this lift.

Why not? I really must point to my comment above. Is it you can not do the weight you want becasue it really awkward and prevents you form doing what you are capable of? I really think I was in the same boat as you are in now. GO LIGHTER and you will get there. Trust me I have had all the same problem you mention. I think if you try to master it and go low weight for now you will get comfertable with the machine. The more you do it the more you will be able to lift. Once it feels natrual you will be pushing huge amounts at least trying to. My personal situation first day I tried the hack I was strugling with 45 on each side, major knee pain. So I went lighter much lighter no weight at all. Along with practicing light 20 rep squats sets which is my other week point. Basicly I am much more comfertable with it now and even though not allot of weight for the hack I am up to 4 plates on each side for about 8 to 10 hard reps.

If this is not your situation and you really cant do them, then best of luck and forget what i said.

So do you think I should use the hack squat sled, or the barbell?
