    sore shoulders when sleeping

Last week or so my shoulders have been sore in the morning. I'll wake up early and notice a real ache. I assume this is from not moving, as it goes away pretty quick. Any ideas? Tendinitis? I may be sleeping on my sides more not sure. I notice it more on right and I've been sleeping on left beacuse of this. Not helping.

I've noticed my shoulders are a little sore lately in general, not the same way though. Thinking about skipping my shoulder wo this week, hate to though. But I have always been plagued by shoulder problems and thinking this might be a precursor.

Depending on where your pain is, It could be a rotator cuff problem.
I cant sleep with my arm(s) above my head very long otherwise they are very sore/stiff the next day.

I don't think rotator cuff. Outside of shoulder, side/front delt.

Sleeping on your side can mildly jam the head of your humerus up toward the AC joint. If you are having inflammation from impingement syndrome already, sleeping on your side will make it worse. My clue that my impingement syndrome problem was getting better was when my shoulder didn't hurt more when I woke up, as opposed to when I went to bed.
