The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

There are just so many things that can go wrong. It could be bad materials, bad welds, forgetting thermal expansions/contractions, operator error, forgetting to convert unts, etc. I hope NASA doesn't get a lot of undeserved heat for this.

I hope they get some more f*cking funding to make sure this sh*t doesn't happen again.

    No kidding.

What our government has done to the space program is a f*cking travesty.

I think that, considering how risky what they do is, their track record is actually very good.

    Agreed.

Yet it must be stated that the funding they receive is far from commensurate with the risks and rewards of their task.

Its a bad thing for sure!! I hate it though that every channel is having blurbs about terrorism possibilities.. I think that the press is forgetting that perhaps when something goes wrong, it doesn't always have to be an act of terrorism...

I agree with Rock, I mean, what about the families of these people.. You know that for the next week, every time they walk past a TV, this is all that'd gonna be on.. I am sure that the last thing they want to see right now is pictures of their loved ones being blown up plastered all over the media....

woke up this morning, turned on the tv and they were talking about losing contact with the shuttle. I immediately thought, oh no, not again. sure enough, a few minutes later they had footage of the remains of the shuttle falling. I really hate it for the families waiting for the landing only to be taken away to be told what happened. That must be unbearable.

terrorism sells and by repeating it, it's a good way to keep it fresh in your mind and keep you afraid. just my take on things.

The shuttle was over 20 years old, you'd think NASA would have invested in a new model.

    This is a tradgety.

On a side note, I won a bet at work, I bet one of the girls I sit with, that they would mention terrorism, even if it wasn't involved.

I remember being in my 7th grade history class when the Challenger blew up (kind of a strange coincidence, I think). This brings back all those memories. It's a sad event. I also find it interesting and pathetic that more people are concerned with the state of our shuttle program, the possibility of terrorist attacks, and funding than with the loss of 7 astronauts.

I believe the shuttle was designed to perform around 100 missions, and it was nowhere near that mark. I really don't think age was an issue in today's tragedy. I, of course, could be wrong.

It's not that I'm more concerned with the state of the shuttle program than the fate of the astronauts. If it has appeared so, then I apologize, for it has not been my intention to give such an impression. What happened is indeed a tragedy. I just hope that, in the future, such dangers can be prevented; and part of such prevention is proper funding, which NASA currently, by all accounts, does not receive.

    Yeah, this sucks...
One of my roommates lives in a neighborhood near Dallas where lots of astronauts live. His little brother was a friend with one of the late astronaut's sons... Imagine how that kid must feel.

nah mang. I wasn't bitching about people's comments in this thread. So far every every bit I've heard or read has focused on terrorism and the state of the shuttle program....not on the loss of the seven astronauts. That's what irks me...not your comments or those made in this thread.
