The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Yesterday hit a new pr for DB shoulder presses
    45's x 7
That made me a bit happier. but I just have felt blah, and I'm thinking that living in a new city without my friends is starting to hit me. So I just drove around town alot yesterday rather than being at home alone. Grrrrr I dislike that.......

And as for the anger at myself, it's just the fact that i never seem to learn my lessons the first time. It usually takes me 2 or 3 times.... anyways, enough.

    Sunday - Legs

    Squats
    bar x 25
    135 x 10
    185 x 6
    225 x 12
(not as strong feeling as last week however)

    Hack Squats
    1 plate a side x 15
    2 plates a side x 8
    2 & quarter a side x 6--- hmmm seemed harder than I'd have thought
    1 plate a side x 15

    Lying leg curls
    45 x 15
    60 x 12
    90 x 8
    120 x 5

    15 mins bike

    45 degree calf raise
    1 plate a side x 15
    2 plates a side 2 sets x 15

    stretch

    More cardio later.

I kind of feel the same way down here Anna. Trust me, when I moved to London, I felt the same way as well, but there are really alot of good people in that town, all you have to do is go meet them! London is a beautiful city, once ya get out and about, you'll really enjoy it!

And as for the anger at myself, it's just the fact that i never seem to learn my lessons the first time. It usually takes me 2 or 3 times.... anyways, enough.
    [/B]
Better than me, it takes me an average of about a half dozen attempts before I learn sh*t!!! hehe I always get pissy about it, say I won't do it again, then go make the same mistake a few more times

I seriously am hating myself lately, which pretty much sucks.
    How's that for positivity?
Aww, don't be feelin like that gurlie, you're a really nice person and a super sweetheart on top of that (at least ya seemed like that from our ten minute convo) no reason to be upset with yourself at all!!

You have some really impressive strength there. I know that you have been told that many times, but I just wanted to reinstate it.

As far as London goes it really not a bad place. I'm kinda getting bored of it now after being here for the last six years, but that beside the point.

When I first came here I felt the same way you do. But I did get over it. College helped quite a bit.

If you ever need any ideas of what to do in this town just PM, usually I found out what fun to do around here working in a bar and all.

Attempted some early morning cardio but I think it was the poorest showing I've made at the gym in a long time. usually if I wake up and i'm not feeling up to par, I go back to bed, but being 111/2 weeks out.... no way. So atleast I got myself in and did something.

I had my leg workout later on any ways ....
Not going to update other than getting 2 extra reps on leg press today which was good.
I'm definitely noticing my legs changing in shape since sticking to the heavier leg sessions which I like.

    Well,
I figure I'm either one of the biggest moron's on earth, or I'm just really set on getting my ass in gear for the upcoming show.
I'd love to go with the latter.

I was given the oportunity to go on an all-inclusive vacation through work. My accepting depended alot on the timing so when I heard it was april5th-12th I was all set, even though I knew I'd have to be completely anal about my training and diet.
Then came the catch. What had started at being 4 tickets, then became 3 so it was either going to come down to doing a draw of names, or each of us chipping in $500. I definitely couldn't justify forking out the $$$ when there's other trips I am expected to be making so I just got bitter and said "forget about me then"... I guess I just figured that everyone who is going to go may as well partake in all the free booze and good food. And to be honest, it likely would have been extremely tempting to cheat on the diet etc.
    So........ yeah......

This morning was 25 mins cardio and back.
More cardio after work later today.

Yep, the latter it is. You most likely made the right decision. There is no way I could train and eat properly while on any type of vacation....business or otherwise.

I would choose the latter portion as well. However, this one comment has confirmed the belief that you in fact, are one of the biggest gym geeks in Canada...... hehe I am also on the list, so don't be to offended

I don't blame ya really.. I mean if you've been training hard, no point in going away when one fo two things could happen... One, you stick to your training and diet, and have no fun, in which case it was a waste.. Or two, you go, and totally blow it due to poor facilities down there or whatever.. *cough*free alcohol*cough* hehe, anyway, good choice, I woulda done the same!

This little adventure from last night's gym outing could not go untold.......

I was doing a chest workout and started off downstairs where all the free weights are and the room is generally filled with males. Not many females ever train in there and so to start with I stand out. Not to mention I lift more than most the young lads down there too....

Anyways, I did a few exercises and then headed upstairs to use a machine. I plop my butt down on the seat and feel something cold.... I think to myself , "Hmm must have sat in some water". But when I stood up I saw no water on the seat .... uh-oh.
I turned to look in the mirror and what do I see? My big ass cheek staring back at me!
I guess the material was weak in an area and just decided to tear.
Oh the horror. Was probably the single most embarrasing moment of my life to date.
Luckily I had two people beside me that I knew so I asked the guy to bend over to pick up my teeny tiny towel so I could make a graceful exit.
What made the event realy comical was 2 mins after I realised this, a man came on to the speaker reminding everyone about proper gym dress code while upstairs (no cut off shirts etc....)
Had to just be a coincidence but the couple beside just had to chip in about no ass cheeks showing either....
Needless to say my workout ended there.

if it makes you feel better, over the summer this one girl at my gym always trotted around like she was the s***. she had a decent body, but a butter face... anyways, she was doing cable crossovers and some how her sports bra ripped and she was exposed and everyone laughed. I didnt see her sports bra rip, but i did catch her running to the locker room with her hands over her chest. quite funny...
