The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Savvy's Contest Prep-12 weeks

Yep , it's time for a new journal. That other one was a lost cause......

Anhow, I'm exactly 12 weeks out from a show that's April 26th. As much as I want to do the Fitness, it's not going to happen this time around. So my first show will be a bodybuilding show. That's final.

    Shoulders

    Seated DB press
    20's x 15
    30's x 12
    40's x 10

    DB laterals
    10's x 15
    15's x 10
    20's x 6 blah

    Bent over DB laterals
    10's x 15
    15's x 12
    25's x 8

testing strength on bi's and tri's

    tricep pushdowns
    40 x 15
    60 x 10
    70 x 6

    DB bicep curls
    15's x 15
    25's x 10
    35's x 6 - these felt much easier

5 mins cardio....... umm can't seem to get this cardio kick I had going back grrrrrrrrr

"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

Thanks to all my well wishers.....

Split my workout up today. I don't see my good friend much anymore so I definitely wanted to train with her today except she couldn't until later today and me being the morning person that I am , I just had to get my squats over and done with this morning ....

    Squats!
    bar x 15
    135 x 10
    185 x 6
225 x 12 -- this is strange but i'll take it no doubt!

good luck sav, although luck wont come into it you'll rip em 2 shreds.

The first workout you posted was top notch, doing 35's for 6 on the db curl would put alot of the male members to shame on the board. Same for the 225 for squat! unreal stuff going on there.

    keep it up, peace

    I trust your word

I only ask because these extremely impressive squats are all the more impressive because you do them to a proper depth

Geez, April certainly seems the month for shows.

Rest of my leg workout yesterday was good. Hooked up with a gf and went to her gym which amazingly enough did not have a squat rack so I'm glad I did them in the morning!

    New leg press/sled machine
    70 x 20 wrmup
    150 x 15
    250 x 15
    300 x 12

Liked this machine but it was downright awkward

    Smith machine Lunges
    70 x 15
    160 x 8

    lying ham curls
    80 x 15
    90 x 12
    110 x barely 5

    Diet was good

    This morning was chest/Back

    warmup- set of chins- 5

    Incline DB press
    35's x 15
    45's x 12
    55's x 8

    Flat Bench
    95 x 15
    135 x 6

    Cable x-overs
    30 x 15
    50 x 6 drop set 30 x 8

    Lat Pulldowns
    70 x 15
    90 x 12
    110 x 6

    Bent over BB row
    bar wrmup
    95 x 12
    115 x 8

    1 arm DB row
    40's x 12

    Bike 10 mins

    More cardio after work.

    Bi's & Tri's
Was supposed to do cardio but I woke up with a headache and opted to do weights instead.

    Triceps

    Skull crushers
    25 x 15
    45 x 12
    55 x 8
    70 x 5 almost 6

    Overhead rope extensions
    40 x 15
    50 x 12
    60 x 10

    1 arm cable pulldown
    30 x 15
    40 x 10
    50 x 6

    Biceps
    EZ bar curls
    25 x 15
    35 x 12
    45 x 10
    60 x 6

    incline DB curls
    5's x 15 errr wrmup
    10's x 12
    15's x 10
lighter weight but was really slow and strict

    1 arm DB preacher curl
    10's x 15
    15's x 10
20's x 6-- got realy weak on these

Finished with a set each of cables for rear and side delts and DB front raises

Cardio this afternoon as I get to play hooky since the weather got bad and my plans got changed.

    Added in :
    Cardio- 25 mins bike
    Set of DB shoulder press
    20's x 15
    25's x 12
    30's x 8
    40's x 10
Definitely need to try the 45's next week

    10 mins x-trainer
On a side note, I went to a diff gym for workout #2 and I really liked the atmosphere much better than where I have been going.
