    American Womens record???

Does anyone know what the American record is for women's bench press? I read in the newspaper today that my neighbor currently holds it. She's extremely strong, but just doesn't seem like a national record holder. The paper said she holds it with, I think, 281 pounds. I was just wondering if this is anywhere near correct, becuz it doesn't sound accurate.

Can't be right...Don't remember the power lifting website but I read of a woman at 160 doing 300+. 281 is a lot of weight, but it's not a record

I'm not sure of her weight class. I would never say thats not a lot of weight, but I was sure it wasn't an American record.
