Errant missle may have hit Iran

LMFAO. So much for the "precision" guided bombs that have been meticulously scrutinized to hit only "military targets." We hit the wrong country today sarge.

3 missiles out what, like 1500 or more??? Damn that's a TERRIBLE percentage!!! I agree it looks bad, and is terrible if there are civilian casualties, but the coalition is doing a damn good job of avoiding civilian casualties.

It wasn't a near miss, which would suggest the targeting/precision aspect is flawed. The entire missile went far off course, which would imply that there was a serious malfunction in guidance from the get-go. Either incorrect coordinate entry, or something faulty in the on-board computer. Believe it or not, it's far more common with that type of guidance system (satellite/direct imaging) to miss by 100 miles than it is to miss by 10 feet.

thanx RP, i was looking for confirmation on that. and now the news is coming out of how Russia has been selling some military equipment including night vision goggles and radar jamming equipment that can cause precision guided missiles to go astray. Gee, i wonder why they are against the war.

You've gotta figure though that just like with everything else, there is a possibility for mechanical or technological malfunction in missiles.
    Let me get this straight...

    No prob man,

and France, Russia and Germany all have some kinds of business deals with Iraq. it doesn't surprise me at all.

The Last gulf war, Saddam pointed a bunch of SCUDS towards Israel tipped with biological weapons and told his generals to launch them if the Americans took baghdad.

He may want to get some good shots in at his enemies before he goes down.

Sorry Orbital, but as said above it was Iraq's missles they fired into Iran. Again they (Saddam's regime) are trying to turn this into a very dirty battle and trying to provoke other countries to help turn it into chaos.......same reason he has been asking Arab states to attack Zionist. Israel. Hence his call for Jihad and long live Palestine.......
