The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Is this Weird or Totally Normal???

    OK

I am generally thin. When I wake up, I look in the mirror sideways and I can't hardly stick my stomach out at all.

But sometimes after I eat I notice I can push my stomach out a lot further.

For instance, in the morning my waist might be 30.5-31 inches totally extended.

Then after dinner in the evening it will be 32-32.5

I know that your stomach has to grow a little when it's full, but is there are reason that mine does that.

Am I eating to much at once, or to fast????

I see these dudes with ripped abs and I'm working on it but I don't want to have to suck in to see them.

It's like I get a mini temperary pot belly......

    Any thoughts or anwsers???

    That is normal.

Over the past 5 days, when I finished eating my lunch (MRE's are ace!) I could hardly strap my LBE back on (load bearing equipmet) whereas I had no problem before lunch. Oh, and at least you don't have large intestines and organs so that you absolutely can't have that nice slim look without sucking in your gut!

Hahaha, i got that too. I can make my stomach mad big too, normally i have a 31' waist (stand up right), but can over exten it to close to 34' inches. My ripped friend 5'10, 155 pounds 5-8 % bf can do it too. But when he does it you can still see the details of his ab muscle. Some people have it, some don't...

It's genetics. You can still get abs. It just means you have a belly that can handle a lot I think.
Life isn't like Burger King, you can't always have it your way.

    Hmmm

See I am about the same size as your friend, only higher BF I think.

I see those dudes on the fake b4 after pics for those ab advertisements in mags.

They'll suck way in and be ripped for one pic, then extend their beer gut and look fat in the other.

I don't want to have to walk around the beach all sucked in

    LOL

But really, unless I'm fairly full I don't have a huge problem.

But it always makes me feel fat after a meal.

Dude, if you have a 31 inch waist, what are you complaining about? Quit being anorexic and eat something, do your ab workouts and quit worrying, I am sure in six months your abs will either begin to show more or even be at their height of greatness.

I just dont see why your complaining, I have a 35 inch waist in the morning, and I am happy enough, and I can see some of my abs.

So quit worrying about it, you'll get there.

Waist size has nothing to do with visibility of abs.

Measuring your waist is a thing of the past, its what you do with the waist you got.

Some people have 38 inch waists, but its all muscle, its the way their built.

You have a 31 inch waist, work with it, it was the way God made you.

Christ man, your skinnier than my mother. EAT.
    Age:19
    Height:6'1
    Weight:180lbs
bf%:Last year it was 17%, probably 17-20% now.

I'm just a guy who once worked out like the rest of you probably do and am looking for some inspiration and help to get started again and stay on track.

    Goal:250lbs at 12% Bodyfat.

^The above is something I hope to accomplish before the age of 28.

No, I am not gay, I just want to avoid typing this 10 times in the future.

    LOL @ the hostile comments

I'm not really complaining, just wondering.

I thought abs were made in the kichen or some ****.... least thats what I read????

I also didn't think abs could really extend out a lot. I thought u had to chissel them by staying thin. Thats all I was worried about fellas.

I am new to this, so I will be asking dumb questions.

Is your stomach or your belly that becomes bloated? If it is your belly, you could be suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome, which is a pathological condition. Do a search on it. If it's just your stomach it's normal, just watch out how much you eat and how much you drink each time and keep making those abs stronger. Oh, and you can always ask a doctor, it's no fuss.

Most smaller guys experience after dinner bloat, sometimes I feel like I'm in my second trimester after dinner. I've heard that the bigger you get the less you notice it. I dont' know.
    sometimes slowly
