you can do all the ab work you want, a 6 pack is really about shedding the fat around the gut.
lift hard, lift heavy, no excuses.

First of all, working your abs IS important because you must develop those muscles. How would it look if you lost all the fat on your arms and still had no biceps? But it is equally important to lose BF also to see those abs. So working those abs and cardio are vital to seeing that nice six pack, not to mention eating smartly, otherwise if you eat bad you could just be putting on more fat.

get fit. sprints mixed in with jogging is my preference.
i do laps of a beach that is about 1k across, running on the soft sand and sprinting 100m whenever I have the breath to do it.
Usually finish after 5-6 k and could probably get away with less.

Grizantir, check out the HIIT sticky at the top of the board. It is very helpful when trying to shed fat.

I'm with Oak_strikeback on this one...

    Body fat under 7%:
Dont do abs = flat decent abs
Do abs = have big awesome abs

    Body fat around 12%:
Dont do abs = fat look/gut
Do abs = still have visible abs

moral of the story....work on those abs

diet and cardio along with a routine is whats gonna make them look good. But try my routine for your abs if you want and aim to add weight each week. This is what I am doing and think its hard as hell.

    1. Abs are one muscle
    2. You CAN NOT spot reduce
    3. I'm pretty sure you only have 6 "sections" to your abs, the "other two" are adominal protions of your pecs. Good luck with 8
    4. Best way? lift heavy, loose fat, do compounds
