    I think most people here couldn't tell you because they're a waste of time to most of us.

    I've done 100 once just to say I could. Wasn't fun. The fun bit is how easy it is to get to 50... I can bang out 50 without breaking a sweat. By 55 I start to feel it. Good old adaptation... weeks of 'drop and give me 50!' turned me into a 50 rep pushup machine.

    for the Army PT Test my personal best is 111. that means that the upper arm must be at least paralell to the ground at the bottom position and all the way up to lockout.
    here is a pushup program written by Pavel Tsatsouline that I had used to get my PR.
    right click on image, save as. then open in picture viewer and enlarge to read, or print.

    the most I've done is 100 (as of late)- Broken up sets with a deck of cards. Anyone else use the deck of cards? About 7-8 years ago I was able to do an entire deck. Trying to get there again!

    You do the amount of push ups as per number on that card. Ace can be 11 or 1 depending on fatigue. Expect extreme soreness to follow for a couple of days. Especially lats!!

    Give it a go, and let me know how you feel, and how far along you get. You get upset when you flip consecutive face cards (king, queen, jack =10) in a row. You start looking forward to the 2's.

    Ace = 1
    10,J,K,Q = 10
    2-9 = Themselves

    Pull a card from the deck and do that amount of push-ups. Last person to drop loses.

    Only 1 person at a time does push-ups. There is luck involved, as you only pull a card for yourself.

    So you get rest periods. People usually drop after pulling numerous high cards, which happens quite often.

    I guess you have to have friends that are interested in being healthy. That scratches out all of my friends.

    Taht's an easy game. I can do sets of ten forever. I used to do sets of twenty last summer during commercial breaks on television and I would do five sets of twenty before I would go to bed.
