    Bench shirts help your bench by helping you out of the bottom. They kind of reverse the effort. If you have a really tight bench shirt, then you are putting a LOT of energy into actually getting the bar to touch your chest, then after you pause(in a powerlifting comp) the material springs the bar up, and you have to have strong enough triceps to lock it out. Mainly, it just helps you off your chest.

    what it does is gives you vascular compresion on your muscles.....its like having skin that doesnt strech....and because of that you get a better push with the muscles.....
