The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Handle's log

okay - I hate leg day.. but it's the area that benefits the most.

Switching gears - after hashing it out w/ PowermanDL - gonna back off on the cardio and distance run/hike thing (gulp) - and try keeping it 20 - 30 mins max 3 times a week. (part of me continues to go huh?)

    Leg press - (fav) 210
    3 excercises - toes in 3 set 15 rep
    - heals in 3 set 15 rep
    - pushing with heals 3 set 15 rep

Lunges: (I hate these - can never keep barbells aligned perfectly - feel like I'm concentrating more on that then the lunge - but)
    3 set 15 rep

    Leg Extensions: 105lbs (fixed typo)
    4 set 15 rep

    Seated Leg Curls: 170
    3 sets 15 rep

everyone is telling me to do squats - not wild about them... I'm whipped this afternoon and I stink. Write more next week.

good work hrd, keep it up!

    Another chick - sweet!

Cardio is a tool of Satan. In fact, I think that the whole seventh circle of Hell is nothing but treadmills and stairmasters, as far as the eye can see. tuttut. I hope you learned your lesson - it's best not to even toy with evil.

    Damn girl! You're strong
Are you gonna have to resort to single leg work for a while?

Single leg work - not going to do as much weight obviously and reps - while the other is out of commission - so I'll scale it back - so when I'm able, I don't have one doing the bulk of the work etc.

Me strong? nah not really - always had leg strength - I'm5'10" and not a stick either. My consistancy however eh .. yeah

so I wrapped my knee in an ice pack (tied around my knee w/ panty hose *LOL*) I've done this three times now for about a 1/2 hour and I get some of the movement back - that's a relief anyway.

did situps this am - (no hooking my toes though - yikes) and did curls 20 mins -

shoulders, arms and back at the gym at work taday (with any luck the freak from work won't show up).

    more to follow -

    *shudder*

...nice work on teh new journal, don't sweat the leg thing, it'll recover itself if ya let er heal, i busted up my hip a year ago, kept pushing it hard, then it just gave out, damn testosterone *pumps fist*

...another thing, treadmills may not be the acest thing for your joints, if you have access to an elliptical i would use that or even better would be to do some sprint work, either intervals or somethin along those lines.
May you be in heaven an hour before the devil knows you're dead.

    eewww...sorry I asked....

Have to agree with 'da Pup here. Stay off of the treadmill for a while and get thee to the elliptical trainer. I would avoid sprint work for a while. Just kinda ease back into stuff.
Oh, and have a doctor check the knee out!

knee is feeling a little better - okay to take the stairs, but getting up (if I'm sitting down) and putting weight on that leg to do so - gives me a sharp pain on the back of my leg (under my knee).

Anyway - I'm doing half the weight on the leg press and using both legs (obviously the good leg is shouldering more of the weight).

    will write more later.
