The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    WWII Memorial

4-5 may are the WWII memorial days for Holland.
4th is to honour the victims
5th is to celebrate liberation and hope for a free future

Does WWII play a big role in the USA?

except Memorial Day and Veterans Day over here are sort of for people that were in any war. Vietnam, WWI, WWII, etc.

Also November 11th. I can't remember the official title. I think it was the day the peace treaty was signed.

memorial day is more focused on ww2, but youre right it is about all who have served.

however its more of a reason for people to enjoy a day off work and drink and have a bbq than to actually acknowledge what happened.

I have been thinking about the war here more and more through reading about it and starting to realise what it was really like, the stories my grandparents etc told me.

My maternal grandfathers first wife and kids were Jewish and were deported. my grandfather was actually on the train to the execution camp but after being told so by her managed to convince the SS man guarding the train carriage that he was not jewish and was allowed to jump off. This was btw a break of protocol that could have cost the SS man his life.
He eventually got on with his life and married my grandmother, whom he met at the station in amsterdam after she missed her train. He died in 97 from leukemia

I do agree that people look at Memorial Day and Veterans day as days off from work, but the point of them is to remember and most people do. You can't avoid hearing about it on the radio or seeing a parade on TV. If you watch sports it's usually recognized and school participate in one way or another.

While there isn't much individual reflection, society as a whole does tend to recognize which is good.
