Interesting thread, Westy. I'm 5'9" and mine are 15".
Aren't arms supposed to be the same size as calves to be "in proportion"?

Mine are a little over 15" at 165lbs. If I weighed more, I'd expect them to be bigger, obviously.

A buddy of mine is 5'9 175 with 16" arms @ 7 percent, and his arms look pretty respectable if you ask me.

I'm 5'5", about 200lbs (my goal is 180-185) with 16.5" arms. My goal is 17". So for 5'9" I'd say anything over 16-17" is good.

I got to agree. Since I've been cutting I'm now down to like 167 lbs. at 7%ish myself and my arms are still in the 16" range. Folks tell me all the time I have big arms. Proportion is the key as Cal said.

Agree, seriously though I have noticed that when I cut my arms get bigger than after I have bulked. I measured them. Last time I bulked and they got to 16.5" and after I finished cutting from 14%-9% they were a little over 17" and I'm 5'8" and I've always had big arms I was a former curl jockey, but I think my tricepts got bigger and my brother who is my mirror would tell me that they looked big but they fit the rest of my body. so proportion is key if you have big arms you must have big everything.

For that height, I'd say a cut 15-16 inches would be very respectable.

I would agree with the 16 to 17 range. However dont make that your complete goal because it can become a "Mental Sticking Point", in my opinion!

Weight lifted is more important! But then again, I have a biased opinion since I'm more interested in powerlifting than bodybuilding!

I'm 5'8" and a tad under 15" cold. Respectable, definately at the workplace I get props, however at the gym I'm a pipsqueak.

Depends how lean. I mean, sh*t, a lean 16" arm is FAR more impressive than a fat 18" arm. And a shredded 15" arm is arguably more impressive still.

If you gotta ask, then they're not impressive.
