    HAVE A BANANA

    If you want a quick fix for flagging energy levels there's no better snack than a banana.

    And what does that have to do with brown rice vs. white rice?

    do you work for chiquito?

    I do not think two banana provide me enough energy for a 90 minute session.

    in 90 minutes of hard exercise i will burn off about 600-900kcals.
    two bananas provide no where near that amount of kcals.
    my exprience - joined gym 10 years ago, 6 1/2 years hard weight training exprience.

    Wow I was realy interested in knowing which was better is peoples opions white or brown rice and why.. WTF this sux man.

    Well the main reason that brown rice is better than white rice is the fact that white rice has most of the nutrients removed from it. The white rice has been through a processed called milling where the outer bran layer is removed. The main thing that is missing from white rice that is present in brown rice is fiber and B vitamins.

    Sorry guys but I forgot where I got it from (except that it was on the internet). Credit does not go to me . . . I only wish I can write as good.

    I was writing two different articles and decided to stay with the banana article . . . I quess I forgot to rename it . . . if that's posible.

    But why do we need to know about bananas? I stay away from them due to the fructose content.

    Actually they don't have that much fructose, a third of the carb content is dextrose, another third is fructose and the remaining is a combinated form of fructose and dextrose, galactose I think but I'm not sure. They're a good refeed fruit.

    Vet told me to give my dog white rice when she was sick, cause its easier on the stomach.

    Galactose is a monosaccharide found in dairy products. The disaccharide you are thinking of is sucrose (table sugar). Also note that unripe bananas contain more starch (polysaccharides) than glucose, fructose, or sucrose. In under-ripe bananas 80-90% of the carbohydrates are starch. As the bananas ripen, the starch changes to free sugars; including sucrose, glucose, and fructose. A 100g green banana has about 16.0g starch, 0.5g fructose, 0.8g glucose, and 1g sucrose. A 100g ripe banana might have 5.0g starch, 4.0g fructose, 6.0g glucose and 6.5g sucrose.
