Close grip CHINS - palms facing you or away?

i still am not sure wut the difference is between chins and pullups.

    chins - palms face you

pullups - palms face away from you

is that right? or is it the opposite?

Some people say it's that, some people say the opposite...

    Definition by exrx.net:

Chin-up: Step up and grasp bar with an overhand wide grip.

Pull-up: Step up and grasp bar with an wide overhand grip.

A CHIN IS PERFORMED WITH A SUPINATED GRIP (Palms Facing). A PULLUP IS PERFORMED WITH A PRONATED GRIP (Palms Away). A PULLUP IS A TYPE OF CHIN. END OF DISCUSSION.

That's the way I learned it.

www.exrx.net defines the difference based on how far up ou pull yourself, it seems. (Chins=getting your chin up to the bar, pullups=getting your whole neck past the bar.)
