    After a workout i drink a protein shake...then drink a yoplait yogurt smoothie.....290 calories, fat free .....is this coo?

    it's better than nothing but far from optimum.

    about 35-40 grams of a whey isoate with 50-75 grams of dextrose/maltodextrin would be much better

    dextrose is a type of sugar very high on the GI. you can probably get it in bulk for very cheap at a local brewery, or online at sites like www.1fast400.com

    Dextrose and glucose powder are the same thing, but I would imagine that you can find it cheaper at a store that sells home brewing supplies rather than purchasing it from AST. The AST product is more expensive but yes that would work.
