The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Maltodextrin

    questions:
    1. Is it true Maltodextrin is the best possible high gi carb for post workout?
    2. What is its GI rating?
    3. Where types of stores carry it? I can't find it at the same place where I get my dextrose
    4. Is it similar to dextrose in taste and texture?

Eat fruit post workout. It's cheaper and tastier.

Maltodextrin is the highest on the GI list (around 150 I think).

So as far as post workout goes, that and dextrose are the best source of carbs you can take for replenishing glyco stores.

You can get it at protein factory.com or just get prolab N-Large.

Fruit sucks for post workout. Cack has posted on this before.

    Who said it was best?

I said it was cheaper and tastier and i'm right.

Infact, simple carbs post-workout are not necessary. Do they help? Yes.

Eat what you want. I hear jelly babies are quite good...

Thats what I eat CD when Im bulking. I have sour jellies Harbio styley. Full of Glucose and dextrose. Fruit is a bad choice because the fibre generally slows digestion down counter acting the insulin spike that your trying to achieve.

why would you order dextrose off the net? almost any store that sells sugars/candies/flours carries it. Now maltodextrine... thats something that I'm having trouble finding locally.

Is maltose and maltodextrine the same thing?

no, a dextrin is a chain of 10 sub units, malto dextrin is therefore carbohydrate made from chains of 10 maltose sub units.

maltose, for anyone who cares is in fact made up from one unit of glucose and one unit of galactose (two 5-c sugars). (formed by a condesation reac. so ob has a water molecule removed).
half the time I have no idea what you're talking about. the other half, I'm not listening.
