    bench press questions

    i was wondering what is a good program for adding weight to the bench press. How do you get a big bench press.What have you guys done to improve it

    Well if you are just looking to put on weight so it looks good work on strength. I use to have lower amounts of reps but would do a higher amount of weight.

    Current weight 150-155 9% bf
    Current bench max 250

    When I weighed 164 I had a 260 bench max. How I miss being at that weight.

    Build tricep and shoulder strength.

    Depending on your form, build lat strength too, it will stabilize you and is a synergist muscle to your pushing movements.

    i use the pyramid 10-8-6-4 reps when I do chest days. Adding weight each week. Ive jump from 180 bench in Jan to 225 now. I think I can get even more. Ill try in a few weeks.

    I did reverse bench for about 3 weeks and it shot my bench up after that.

    Ya i think I will be integrating reverse bench into my routine next week. I'll hope for the best.

    You might want to give that a try if your bench is below ~315. After that training with Dynamic/Maximum effort and accessory work is probably the best.
