what are rack pulls? and lower back machine?? back extensions???
rack pulls are when you set up the barbell at a desired height in the rack, resting on the pins. you then deadlift it from that height. it's a way to isolate, or take part of the movemnent out..such as setting the bars high to do more work with the back.

That is a good and accurate description of what rack pulls are Patrick - they really are deadlifts but not from the ground level, mines are probably the second pin if I recall correctly…the lower back machine is sort of like sitting in a chair and leaning back with effort.
