The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

What is your preference on depth? I always trained inches off the chest but had an older gentlemen at the gym coach me into touching on some sets... still not sure if this is the wisest of idea which is which I beckon the question of you?

Performing strictly horizontal bent over rows with heavy weights is just an injury waiting to happen, but make no mistake, the heavier you go the more upright the movement gets. I have done bb rows up to 5pps but did not appreciate my form at that point.

My bb inclines are done in the 125-130 degree range.

I appreciate the kind words enormously.

Session was not too focused for two reasons; I took my two teenage nephews with me to the gym to show 'em how it's done, lol - they are here for xmas break from Virginia Beach and we had quality time...plus, I talked a great deal with a couple of members I haven't seen in a while, being that I'm still in the xmas spirit and all.
I was feeling pretty good about my workout until I seen your squats. Insane strength in here bro!

No doubt your nephews scored a great lesson and some inspiration from you, bro. Workouts are looking solid as hell. Interesting about the rows, seeing as that's one of your best lifts. I've noticed the same thing. It's easy to keep adding weight and not realize that you are just standing more and more upright with them.

I weighed in at 212 toward the end of October, which was a couple of months ago, and suspect that I am under that right now. I'd like to make further gains in strength and size.

My first serious gym was at Gold's, the guy I basically emulated there happened to be a powerlifter who is well known in our area just from his sheer size - he did give me a few tips early on, but it is all standard fare.

I have never entered into any competitions and that includes bodybuilding. Lifting is something I've done like clockwork for the past seven years.

Up until the time I had the minor delt tear a couple of years ago, I let the bar touch the chest during inclines - these days I don't and stop short of it which is better imo.
