    The perpetual bulk!!

Ok journal time! In my journal you will more than likely leave confused due to incoherent ramblings and thing's of that nature! Wooooo hooo ok so here goes.

I just finished my first HST cycle gotta say I am pretty happy with it. I have my before measurements and will take my after here soon. I am currently doing SD and way bummed about it. I will probably only stay out of the gym for about 10 days which would put me back in on Sunday. June 22 2003. I plan on skipping 15s and starting out at 12. Some exercises I will do increments of 5lbs increases and some 10lbs depending on the strength of the muscle group. Also taking into account the amount of work that muscle receives in general. This is what I have so far comments suggestions spam and random rants are welcome and requested. Oh ya if I miss spell something go with it man, I dont want to know about it that's kind of a pet peeve.
    layout as follows
    exercise- weight planned- planed increases

    STARTING IN 12'S

Peck Deck Flys- 110- 5 LBS

Dead lifts (suggestions welcome here never gagged my strength here looking for a starting point)

    Leg curls- 100- 10 LBS

    Leg extension- 145 - 10 LBS

Calf Press- 245- 10 LBS (this is subject to change as I need to walk on a daily basis)

    Lat Pull downs- 125- 5LBS

    Weighted Dips- +5 - 5LBS

    Triceps Pushdown- 60- 5LBS

    E-Z curl preachers- 50- 5LBS

    Incline Weighted sit-ups- 35- 5LBS

start light and work your way up on deads. They can be dangerous is you go to heavy with improper form.

    good luck with everything!

I'll second the "work up slowly on deads" advice. Bulking perpetually sounds wonderful -- too bad I've been gaining mostly fat on my bulk...

Nice thread title. I too, am in a perpetual bulk. Now and forever. What's your goal?

Long term goal is to be so massive people don't feel comfortable being in the same room as me. Short term goals humm.... Dont know. Once I get my after measurements from my first HST cycle ill write my goals from there.

    Measurements: All are cold flexed

    05/11/03.................................................06/21/03
    Before....................................................After
    Chest: 40 1/8 ........................................41 1/4
    Waist: 35 1/2 .........................................33 /14
    Hips: 38 3/4 ...........................................33 1/4
    Right Thigh: 24........................................24 /1/2
    Left Thigh: 23..........................................24
    Right Bicep: 15 3/8 .................................15 3/4
    Left Bicep: 15 5/8....................................15 3/4
    Left Calf: 15 3/8......................................15 3/8
    Right Calf: 14 3/4...................................15 1/8

Thighs are measured 9 1/2 inches up from the top of my knee cap.
Calves are measured 4 1/2 inches down from the bottom of the cap.

    My thoughts on this

    Chest prety happy.
Waist umm what ever man I don't even know why I care.
Hips same as waist, just seemed like the thing to do.
Thighs prety happy. Going to try to go for an inch next cycle. to bring me around 25.
Biceps ehh.. Could do better. Think I may change from preachers to standing barbell curls or hammers. Just somthing with more range of motion.

Well I start cycle two on the 22nd so I am ready to go and will be paying more attention to rep speed. Going to go way slower on everything.
calfs ok that's just weird. No growth on the left growth on the right. Strange. Well try to change that next time around.

Dangit you two are gettin one of these and replace an exercise that can be performed sitting down? Have you lost your mind? I am exercising while sitting that's the greatest thing since sliced bread! I may change thing's around again next time for now just seeing what works best.

track down a powerlifting coach in your area and get them to sort out your form on deads; your back will thank you for it

while you're at it, get them to teach you squatting form as well... this is WELL worth the effort and/or expense.

Good luck with the HST Cycle 2.

Ok so here is the deal. I have neglected my journal here for a couple of days. I went to my association gym where I HAD been going for a while now. Every no joke EVERY piece of equipment was being used. I tried to squeeze in my work out and became very upset and decided to leave before yelling started. So the next morning I went and got a member ship at a gym up the street. It weird too because everything is different as far as the machines I was using the have diff placement of the pivot points and such so the poundage's are all off. So I have switched a few thing's up and I am back on track now. Switched from peck deck to flat bench DB fly's from seated leg curls to laying leg curls (probably a different word for that but hey..) now using a seated calf raise machine instead of the sled. That's about all for the changes but like I said some of the poundage's changed w/ the equipment. So here we go.

    DB Peck Deck Flys- 45 x 12
    Leg curls- 60 x 12
    Leg extension- 140 x 12
Seated Calf Press- 90 x 12 (folks this blasted em')
    Lat Pull downs- 120 x 12
    Weighted Dips - +5 x 12
Triceps Pushdown- 60 x 12 After dips this felt great! w00t
    Hammer curls- 25 x 12
    Incline Weighted sit-ups- 35 x 12

    So there we have it.
Callahan: good advice w/ the power lifting coach. Ill ask at the front desk of the gym to see if they know of one and see if they would be willing to just check my form. Skipped the 15's because i don't feel like they do anything for me. I understand that they are supposed to prepare your joints but I just dont feel then need to do 15 reps.

I upped my weighted dips to 10 because 5 is just so totally un noticeable. Skipped calf raises because I can hardly walk from the other day.

Hst is getting kind of old so I think ill cut it after this one. Go to a well planned regular workout do that for an equal amount of time as the two cycles of hst and compare my results. Then stick w/ what ever gave me the most gains.
