    Bananas as post-workout food....{{{

    My gym has $.25 bananas, only thing I can afford. I had to head to a friends house after a gym and couldn't have a good post workout meal. Is a banana okay?
    I love it in the mirror.

    A banana is great right after a work out.

    I have a whey shake and a banana after everyone of my work outs.

    Banana is not great. Try something without fructose.

    Bannana's are fine as a post workout food. They have a high GI which will allow you to replenish glycogen stores quickly and will help post-workout protein uptake.

    except that with fructose, you are supposedly just refilling your liver glycogen, so that doesn't do the muscles much good. I would have more than a banana ideally.

    if liver glycogen stores are full any excess will be secreted as serum glucose and "can" be utilized by skeletal muscle to replenish muscle glycogen...

    Ripe banana's are not 100% fructose. They contain fructose, sucrose, maltose, glucose, raffinose, melezitose, and rhamnose.

    I have a whey protien shake, with a banana, and one Tablespoon of hersheys chocolate syrup. MMMMM it's great. And for me the syrup doesn't throw it off to much, and makes it taste even better
    Second place is just a generic term your mom created to make you not feel bad about losing, because second place is actually first loser!

    "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
    So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!"
