The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Doggie died

He was a little over 9 years old. He came down with diabetes and the insulin wouldn't take so my parents had to put him down last night. We had him since he was a puppy. He's a standard poodle, BTW and if anyone has ever been around one of these dogs you'd think they were a person that couldn't talk.

Sorry to hear that, bro. It's a sad occasion, indeed.

Isn't that unusual!? Yeah he really felt like he was part of the family as opposed to being a subordinate. Sometimes when you'd call him to come it was like he rolled his eyes as if to say "are you kidding me?"

Oh, I'm sorry. Is it like a stomach flu or something?

no idea. it might be that he's hyperthyroid - it could be that he has a UTI. no obstruction or tumor thank god. now i just need him to eat so he doesn't get sicker. it sucks that the insulin didn't work for your doggie. Do you think y'all will get a new one?

They were planning on getting one after my sister has her baby (August) but were also planning on having this one as a mentor. Sadly, it didn't work out that way. I'm sure they will still get one, probably black this time.

oh and ABD - a friend of mine has always said "The best way to get over a dead dog is a new dog." i don't know how true that is, as i've never been int he position before, but i can see how it can help one cope. When mine pass i plan on getting new kittens.

It's amazing how attached we get to these little freeloaders, isn't it?

I'm a sap, too - got me two kitties, on of 'em played tag with a car and suffered a shattered pelvis back a few years ago.

THAT was expensive. Paid for the ER instead of buying the car I had picked out.

    Whaddya do?

Abdomega, I'm so sorry for your loss.

And tryska, I'll have a good thought for your baby.

That sucks, man. I don't know how I'd react if anything happened to my little guy. For not being a dog-lover originally, I've grown quite attached to him and he's like my son, only really small and covered in fur. Thankfully he's only 4 yo and Chihuahua's supposedly live a really long time. *crosses fingers* *knocks on wood*

Sorry to hear man. I've lost about 4 myself (mom used to breed chihuahuas so I was always into them) and everytime its like losing a family member or something.

I'm in the same boat (or on my way there), my chihuahua (Taco) is 16years old(oldest one we had prior was 13) and am slowly watching him get out of breath doing minor things like playing for like 3min, or taking a poo (don't ask). Also he's starting to cough alot when he gets excited, so it may be fluid from the heart. I'm gonna have to put thee little guy down I think.

Yeah, its cool and all, and life will be better with a pet around the house again, but paper-training the replacement is teh suck.

Sorry to hear that bro, damn I would probably cry for 3 whole days if my dog died.

    sorry to hear that.

we had to put my cat down a couple years ago. cancer in her mouth. too late to do anything by the time we found out. i cried.

and this year my cat which was 21 (she lived in my house before i did for christs sakes) stopped eating for 2 days then wandered off and most likely died. i was sad and real upset, but for some reason i didn't cry. i don't know why. i kinda feel like i should have, but i don't know. maybe because it was just a natural wandering off and dying because she was so old, i didn't feel as bad. who knows.

Sorry to hear about your beloved pet I think it's one of the worst losses...pets are the true essence of unconditional love and companionship. I lost two pets within 7 months of each other last year and I still miss them terribly. One finally succumbed to kidney failure and the other from a reoccurence of cancer. Having to make the decision to let them go was one of the hardest things I've ever done.

My lab just did a series of experiments on a sheep that concluded with it being euthanized after being sedated during the procedures. I was able to detach during the experiments, but when the vet tech was getting ready to administer the last shot, I had to leave the room...too many sad memories.

Tryska, I hope your cat gets better And Built, I can relate to your story...I had to sell a bunch of stock to pay for cancer treatment (radiation/chemo) for my kitty. It gave me many more years of his companionship and was worth every penny!

thanks for the well-wishes ont he kitty y'all. I think he may be coming around - i brought him hoem yesterday because he jsut wouldn't eat in the hospital. Turns out he wanted Mama's homecooking - which surprised me - because makign that switch from kibble to rawfeeding was a pain in the arse. pleasantly surprising at least. and he kept it down!

we'll see what this evening brings.
