The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Life AFTER Death?

I'm kind of curious and I don't recall seeing a post like this here.
Do you believe in life after death? Do you believe in a human spirit/soul or some other scenario? What do you think happens when the body dies?

OH yeah let's not dwell on the DEATH part that is depressing....The soul & afterlife part is fascinating....is the universe really random or is it a place where our souls inhabit various life forms and get to experience things our minds can't even comprehend?

By just dying, I mean that we are buried/cremated, we decompose, and we are soil. Someone could grow crops on that ground years later, harvest them, and eat them or sell them. It doesnt matter who you are, you're food for the worms Thats it. Why are human beings special? If we have souls, why don't we think about the souls of insects and monkeys. I know how some people believe the whole 'reincarnation in levels' stuff (lead a good life, move up, bad life, move down to a cat or something), but I think thats gotta be flawed. Again, why are we special? Why is a human ranked higher than another animal?

Im bored so im gonna quote a random fight club quote:
I've met God across his long walnut desk with his diplomas hanging on the wall behind him, and God asks me, "Why?" Why did I cause so much pain? Didn't I realize that each of us is a sacred, unique snowflake of special unique specialness? Can't I see how we're all manifestations of love? I look at God behind his desk, taking notes on a pad, but God's got this all wrong. We are not special. We are not crap or trash, either. We just are. We just are, and what happens just happens. And God says, "No, that's not right." Yeah. Well. Whatever. You can't teach God anything.

I agree that we are food for the worms.... our bodies and components, however... that is not all that makes up a human. There IS a soul.... what is it made up of? I dunno, that's a good question.... there's some things in life that I don't think need to be explained... you just have faith and believe. I mean... haven't you ever been in a situation or an experience that just makes you feel a certain way... like unexplainable? That's a soul.. the ability to have something affect you so profoundly you can never describe what you felt or experienced to someone else...and it's more complex than simply having a brain/intelligence.

I agree with you about reincarnation... that is flawed. It's a spiritual thing someone made up to make them think that they will live forever....whatever.

Same thing for purgatory.... I don't recall there ever being any mention of purgatory in the Bible. People have had different interpretations of Hell and I think that's where Purgatory arose... it was the Hell that wasn't as bad... I don't know.... but as far as a place like that existing.. I don't even think twice about it. There's Heaven and Hell... and everyone will fit in to one of the two places... IMO.

The only way you can beleive in life after death is if you beleive in ghosts. Otherwise there is no proof. The soul thing is just some romantic hoo-haw.

So do you go through your life wanting proof for everything?

I've had an Uncle who's been declared dead and brought back to life... the same Uncle almost died again multiple times.

My mom has almost died, and been in many severe accidents.

My sister was run over by a car, and survived

That's proof enough for me that there are "ghosts" or Angels that watch over people.... Granted I have never seen a spirit, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

I don't believe in angels protecting people. It honestly doesn't make a lot of sense if you think about it.
"It is often said, mainly by the "no-contests", that although there is no positive evidence for the existence of God, nor is there evidence against his existence. So it is best to keep an open mind and be agnostic. At first sight that seems an unassailable position, at least in the weak sense of Pascal's wager. But on second thought it seems a cop-out, because the same could be said of Father Christmas and tooth fairies. There may be fairies at the bottom of the garden. There is no evidence for it, but you can't prove that there aren't any, so shouldn't we be agnostic with respect to fairies?"

    Richard Dawkins

"Out of all of the sects in the world, we notice an uncanny coincidence: the overwhelming majority just happen to choose the one that their parents belong to. Not the sect that has the best evidence in its favour, the best miracles, the best moral code, the best cathedral, the best stained glass, the best music: when it comes to choosing from the smorgasbord of available religions, their potential virtues seem to count for nothing, compared to the matter of heredity. This is an unmistakable fact; nobody could seriously deny it. Yet people with full knowledge of the arbitrary nature of this heredity, somehow manage to go on believing in their religion, often with such fanaticism that they are prepared to murder people who follow a different one."

    Richard Dawkins

"Bah. You know I hate poor people."
