    Best food for a roadtrip

What do you guys suggest? It can be something to buy at the store and take with or a food joint to stop at.
    Credulous at best
    Your desire to believe in

But pull your head on out of your hippie haze
    And give a listen
Shouldn't have to say it all again

Agreed on all of the above......make sure to have some gum or breathe mints on hand, after a long road trip and tuna or protein bars they all leave you with a little "halitosis".

Are you going to be the only one driving? If so, I tend to select what I take based on how alert I feel after eating it.

When I go cross country I usually eat really tiny meals, about 1/4 the size of what I usually eat. Always protein + fat meals. Tuna + olive oil maybe. I never use carbohydrate based foods when trying to stay most alert due to rise and fall of insulin.

If you really tend to get sleepy, try having one bigger meal before you go when you are fresh in the morning and then nothing for quite a long time. You might be surprised how awake you feel.

Nuts of some sort are a handy snack as well (peanuts, walnuts, etc.) You can usually count on convenience stores at least having nuts and beef jerky.

the label says to refrigerate after opening. doesn't really make sense to me why it needs refrigeration but i haven't tested this out, lest my natty pb goes to waste.

Refrigeration will help prevent the separation of the oil that occurs in natty pb, and according to the site below natural peanut butter should be refrigerated.
